TabsOverview The Department of Early Childhood offers an integrated academic program to obtain a specialization degree in kindergarten. Graduates with this degree are qualified to work as a teacher, as a nanny, or as a child-rearing specialist. The program seeks to prepare specialized teachers in the field of childhood in accordance with the best educational practices and field experiences. That is to ensure the achievement of various skills while creating training opportunities for students through strategic partnerships with community institutions in early childhood, while supporting students who are struggling academically, while enriching talented students, and while preparing distinguished scientific research in the field of specialization. Field Training The kindergarten program includes continuous field experiences through the application of early field experience, starting from the first levels of the specialization, where the student is trained in the field in a gradual manner and with cumulative experiences, which prepares student for practical experience in the last semester before graduation. The program also includes continuous evaluation of the student regarding the specific assignments for each of the specialized courses. The student undertakes field training in the eighth level of the program with the aim of: Enabling student to translate theoretical experiences into practical application Mastering teaching skills, which include planning, implementation, and evaluation during their training. Dealing with behavioral problems specific to children’s age groups. Providing a positive learning environment for children. Working effectively within a team and take responsibility. Admission The program follows the admission conditions and controls specified by the Deanship of Admission and Registration at Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University (click here ) as follows: First: Conditions for admission to the kindergarten track: Conditions related to nationality: The applicant must be Saudi or non-Saudi with a Saudi mother. Conditions for acceptance of internal scholarships for non-Saudi women: - The age of the applicant must be between 17 - 25 years. - The applicant must have a valid residence permit or proof of extract from the Ministry of Interior. The selection is made according to the available seats after the approval of the Ministry of Education, with tuition fees for each semester throughout the period of study at the university. Conditions related to the high school diploma Obtaining a high school diploma, or its equivalent, from inside or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Obtaining a Saudi high school diploma or its equivalent within five years when submitting an application to join the university. Obtaining a score on the tests (General Aptitude and Achievement) from the National Center for Measurement, documented in the Government Transactions Program (Yusr), and that the date of the test must not have been more than five years old when submitting an application for admission to the university. Meeting the conditions for applying for the track and achieving the weighted percentage of enrollment, which is calculated as follows: 30% of the high school average + 30% of the aptitude test score + 40% of the achievement test score Passing the personal interview for female candidates identified by the college or the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, or both. The applicant must not have a current or previous record at Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University. The applicant must not be enrolled or accepted in another Saudi university. (Attachment 2: Registration Guide.pdf) Conditions for joining the program: To successfully pass all foundational first-year courses of the program with a cumulative grade point average of no less than 3 out of 5. Comparison is based on available seats and cumulative average. Year description First year is a foundation year that focuses on providing the student with the basic knowledge and skills in the Arabic and English languages, numerical skills, computer skills in education, and on developing Islamic values and morals. Second year introduces the basics of educational and psychological sciences, the knowledge related to raising ordinary children and those with special needs, and the possible links between theoretical and applied knowledge in the field. Third year allows student to acquire knowledge and skills related to planning educational programs and activities for children, creating learning environments, and practicing children’s learning methods and directing their behavior.
