About the General Directorate of Supplies
The university’s primary responsibilities are centered on offering advanced educational services and keeping up to date on all scientific, technological, and educational developments. Producing high-quality educational outputs from qualified graduates, high-level scientific research, competition for research publications in the best international scientific journals, and supporting local communities. Universities today compete with one another for academic excellence and accreditation from national and international organizations.
Relying on the quality of its outputs through its excellent educational and research service, as well as the supporting equipment that this service depends on, such as the preparation of laboratories, halls, and smart means. Supporting the teaching process, as well as providing a comfortable work environment for all those who have a role in supporting this educational service, including faculty members, technicians, staff, administrators and all supporting cadres. This is reflected positively in confirming the university’s mission and achieving its goals.
The General Directorate of Supplies is one of the important components of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University's executive mission's tools for achieving the University's vision, mission and goals. The General Directorate of Supplies was established by an administrative order issued by His Excellency the President of the University No. 42/459 dated 06/06/1434 H, and in accordance with the order issued by the University Council at its seventh session for the year 1434-1435 H, and the approval of the order by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education under the letter from His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Council of Higher Education No. 1695 dated 06/06/1434 H.
The Directorate is in charge of the administration and contribution to the provision of the necessary materials, tools, and resources for a successful, comfortable, and effective educational service, helping to improve both teaching efficiency and students' understanding. All of this is accomplished through the Directorate’s work in studies and technical advice to provide lab equipment, chemicals, consumables, and construction. In addition to furnishing labs and offering the most recent scientific technologies used in the teaching process, while also working on equipping and furnishing halls, equipping and furnishing offices, and creating the proper working environment. In addition, the Directorate is crucial in directing and assisting the operations of hospitals and medical equipment. Additionally, the Directorate is involved in managing hazardous waste and working to improve quality, safety, and the environment. Additionally, the Directorate supports initiatives to increase the University's own revenue streams, foster a rationalization culture, and cut costs to ensure the sustainability of the University's resources.
