Introduction

There is no doubt that our graduates represent one of the most important categories to have continuous link and communication with Our alumni have the right to know about the events of their college and participate in its development, in the meantime, the college considers its alumni representatives in their professional locations and participants in evaluating its achievements as far as abilities and practical experiences permit. The alumni unit represents a space for the alumni of the college to contribute to the concepts mentioned above. It also aims to be a place where alumni can contact each other to exchange their knowledge and experiences in order to build professional relations that contribute to developing a social partnership to be the base of building a knowledge community.

We welcome all our alumni in their site hoping that this unit be a means through which the college will achieve its goals and objectives in our beloved country under the umbrella of  Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University and the College of Nursing.

Alumni Unit: Vision, Mission, Goals & Objectives

Vision:

To establish  an effective, constant and fruitful partnership and link with our alumni and empowering them to meet the needs of the community.

Mission:

To make all efforts to exchange knowledge, experiences and welfare with the alumni through persistent communication, reinforcing their belonging to the college as well as to the university and encouraging them to participate and contribute to the services of the college and the  university.

Goals & Objectives:

Goal 1: Reinforce communication and strength the relationship with the alumni. These can be achieved through the following:

• Establishing a database for the alumni & updating them on regular base. 
• Develop communication and support the sense of affiliation between the college and its graduates.
• Assisting alumni through the process of getting the official documents, recommendation letters and certificates from the college and the university.
• Creating a collaborative learning and research atmosphere between the college and alumni by sharing their best results and experiences in the field
• Hosing an annual meeting between alumni and faculty at the college 
• Inviting the alumni to participate in the events and activities organized by the college such as conferences, symposiums, workshops and different celebrations.
• Inviting the alumni to participate in the open day that is held by the university in order to know the updates and achievements of the university.
• Utilizing the experiences of working alumni, as they can be a source of consultations in developing the programs to go with the development plans and the requirements of the labor market.

Goal 2: Prepare graduates for their professional careers.

• Improving the training, research and academic plans to fulfill the labor market needs.
• Empowering the students before graduation with lectures and workshops that enable them to  mastering skills of writing curriculum vitae and conducting  job meetings.
•  Providing advisory guidance to students regarding their career planning and employment preparation.  

Goal 3: Help the alumni in identifying career opportunities

• Discussing the problems and trying to overcome the obstacles that the students face when starting to join the business market.
• Guiding and helping alumni in cooperation with the training unit in order to obtain some job opportunities.
• Conducting some surveys to find out about the number of alumni and the percentage of the employed and unemployed and inform the bodies in charge about it.
• Establishing and developing community partnerships with the public and private sectors through the provision of career opportunities for our students.

Unit Charges:

• Provide advisory guidance to  4th and 5th year students regarding their career planning, employment preparation and future work potential.
• Establish a connection with the 5th year students prior to graduation, and continue to have an active links with the College’ graduates after graduation and beyond.
• Establish a database for the alumni names and contact details
• Develop, support and nurture the sense of affiliation between the college and its graduates.
• Hold an annual meeting with the College’ alumni.
• Invite the alumni to participate in the events and activities organized by the College.
• Conduct surveys to find out the number and percentages of alumni who are employed and unemployed, and the time-frame between graduation and employment ( if any), and communicate these statistical information to the relevant bodies.
• Establish community partnerships with the public and private sectors through the provision of career opportunities for College’ alumni.
• Prepare an annual report regarding the Unit’s achievements and submit it to the designated Vice Dean of the College.

Unit Services:

• Inviting the alumni to participate in all activities of the college.
• Raising the alumni concerns and anticipations in order to overcome the difficulties that may face them.
• Organizing specialized workshops for the alumni to face the requirements of labor market.
• Submitting an annual report about the unit activities, achievements and future suggestions.
•  Providing advisory guidance to students regarding their career planning and employment preparation.
