The microbiology lab at the College of Medicine - Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (IAU) serves as an educational and training center for undergraduate medical (and other health sciences) students, residents, and infectious disease (ID) fellows. It offers chances to gain hands-on experience in handling and studying microorganisms of different types within a secure environment and learn about health and safety protocols. Additionally, it supports undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) research projects related to the field of microbiology.

Mission

Our mission at the Microbiology Teaching Lab is to cultivate a deep understanding and appreciation for the fascinating world of microbiology among students, educators, and enthusiasts alike. Through hands-on experiential learning and interactive demonstrations, we aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of microbial life and its impact on the world around us.[OO1]

The mission at the Microbiology Teaching Lab is to cultivate practical knowledge of microbiology among students and doctors through hands-on experiential learning and interactive demonstrations.

Vision

Our vision is to be a leading hub for microbiology education and research in Saudi Arabia and the region by empower individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms. We envision a future where scientific literacy in microbiology is widespread, enabling future doctors and researchers to make informed decisions, innovate, and contribute positively to health and science.

Goals

Our goal is to provide engaging and accessible educational bench work practices, and workshops that inspire a lifelong passion for microbiology. By promoting critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and collaboration, we aspire to equip learners with the tools they need to excel in their academic and professional pursuits, ultimately shaping the next generation of microbiologists and researcher.
