Master of Arts in Islamic Studies

The Master of Arts Program in Islamic Studies began in the 1984-1985 CE/14041405 AH academic year. The Department of Islamic Studies has been conferring MA degrees to women who have later gone on to conduct research as well as teach at UoD. 

Islamic Studies Contains four specializations:

• Interpretation and Qur’anic Sciences.
• Al Hadith and its Sciences.
• Jurisprudence and its Fundamentals.
• Doctrine & Contemporary Ideologies.

The program is conducted through courses and a thesis.

Terms of Admission

• Obtaining a bachelor's degree in Islamic studies from a recognized university, from the Ministry of Education, with a grade point average of no less than very good.
• The applicant obtained a minimum score of (70)% in the aptitude test for undergraduates.
• Memorizing four parts of the Holy Quran.
• Pay the application fee (non-refundable).
• Passing the admission test and personal interview.
• Payment of tuition fees.

The program study consists of four semesters: 02 semesters for study units and 02 semesters for preparation of thesis.

The Program's Credit Hours & Units:

The Program consists of (30) credit unit , 24 of which is study units and 6 prescribed units for the thesis in the program four tracks (Interpretation & the Sciences of Quran , Hadith & its sciences , The Figh & its Principles , Doctrine & contemporary Ideologies)
