Credit hours 24 study units + 6 Thesis Graduation Requirements Passing in all subjects with a minimum grade of good and a minimum GPA of very good Successful discussion of thesis before a panel of referees and the completion of corrections (if any) as per the instructions of the panel of referees. AdmissionAdmission Requirements Admission to the program is subject to the Higher Education requirements of the Saudi universities and the admission requirements approved by the Department of English Board: BA degree in English Language from any university approved by the Ministry of Higher Education with a minimum grade of B. Passing additional complementary courses in linguistics in accordance with rules. Minimum score of (6) in IELTS or any other equivalent test. Passing the written test and the interview conducted by the Department. Study planThe program study plan applies a blended system of taught courses and thesis and has two specializations: General Linguistics and Sociolinguistics. Two academic semesters are dedicated to complete the taught courses: shared courses should be completed in the first semester, and specialized courses in any of the two above mentioned specializations should be completed in the second semester. Upon completion of the taught courses, the student embarks on preparing the thesis in her area of specialization.
