Mission To graduate Respiratory Care Professionals skilled with knowledge, competent in research, committed to social responsibility, who practice their profession with high values Program Goals The program's goals are to complement the mission statement of the Respiratory Care department as follows: Examination and evaluation of patients with breathing problems. Conducting lung function and efficiency tests. Measuring the level of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the blood. Performing respiratory examinations during sleep. Preparing and operating ventilators for intensive care patients. Contributing to pulmonary rehabilitation programs and health education for chest patients. Admission The student must successfully pass the preparatory year. The university council determines the number of students to be admitted based on the recommendations presented by the college council. Acceptance to the program is based on the available vacancies and grade point (GPA). A GPA not less than 3 out of 5 at the end of the preparatory year. Priority is offered to students according to GPA. Year descriptionThe program follows the semester system.The duration of the the program is five years, distributed as follows: Preparatory year for the health track (academic year).Academic study for the major (3 academic years)Internship training period (academic year) Preparatory year :Preparatory year for all health track programs that contains different courses such as Biology, Chemistry, and English. It aims to prepare high school students to integrates into the university environments and into their specialty. Specialization Years: Three years of specialization studies, divided into six academic semesters where students will focus on their professional and clinical studies for Respiratory Care. The specialization years will include days of clinical training at an approved hospital. The Internship Program:A 12-months of mandatory supervised clinical practice that takes place at different governmental hospital with aims of providing a general clinical experience in a hospital setting in order for anesthesia technology interns to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to practice their field of specialty and to develop proper health care attitudes and ethics.
