Creating awareness on cyber threat is more than necessary in a world where everyone is in the cyber world. The Saudi Aramco cybersecurity chair is a collaboration initiative between Saudi Aramco and the department of cybersecurity of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University. The Saudi Aramco chair has made it a point of duty to educate the world on staying safe on the internet using the Digital Newsletter as the medium. This being the first edition, we hope our readers enjoy and learn from the newsletter. We as well welcome feedback and comments in ensuring the aim of the inspiring collaboration is achieved.

On October 7, 2021. A competition for Saudi university students in cybersecurity was held, and it lasted for 24 hours. The competition consisted of 7 sections, namely networks, reverse engineering, binary exploitation, mobile applications, web, digital investigation, and cryptography. Each section contains challenges that require the student to find a flag and thus get points for the challenge. Overall, 807 male/female students registered from 41 different universities forming 170 teams.

They published an article saying that the spread of COVID-19 earlier in 2020 had a massive effect on the entire world. Cyber-crimes have been increasing significantly during the pandemic, which results in a significant impact on education, healthcare, finance, and the whole ecosystem.
