Course Description
Interior Design Studio 7 moves on from innovation to a Place/Technology project that focuses on a physical context in addition to advanced technology fit for contemporary times. It includes design investigations of spaces of increasing scale and complexity articulated by the interaction of individuals and their working needs. The course stresses on interior designs of working place that require high-tech needs. It requires students to face the challenges of designing interior settings in an innovative way that generates creativity and productivity of the employees. The students get a thorough understanding of how organizational structure and activities shape interior spaces, and how to design for the needs of both individuals and institutions.
Students are required to possess programming and researching skills to fulfill the individual and collective needs of the users. Emphasis is placed on sustainability with the application of smart materials, systems and structures in spatial design. Upon completion of this course, students will develop advanced thinking skills that are systematic, procedural, inferential and conceptual through solving authentic design problems.
