Course Description
This course study the measurement and disclosure of liabilities of all kinds, whether short or long-term, especially bonds, as well as measurement and disclosure of owner’s equity by studying the problems of issuing shares in addition to studying retained earnings. This is done through the application of generally accepted accounting principles, in addition to studying some terms in English related to this course.
Course Aims
By the end of the course the student will be able to:
- The student learns how to measure and disclose short-term liabilities
- The student distinguishes between the different accounting treatments for long-term liabilities
- The student knows the accounting methods for capital formation.
- The student will be able to how to account for shareholders' rights, especially about the issuance of shares, the increase and decrease of capital and the different profit distribution policies in joint stock companies.
- The student acquires the ability to prepare a list of retained earnings.
