Course Main Objective
This course aims to make students acquire the basic concepts of digitization of information resources, world standards of digitization work, learn about the available electronic systems and programs, explain the concepts, policies and legislations related to documents and electronic records management, apply the modern technology used in the archiving works, systems of preservation and retrieval and compare among the techniques used in the documents and electronic records management.

- Basic concepts of digitization and digital transformation.
- Digitalization workflow (feasibility study- selection and digital transformation- preservation and storage- file encoding)
- Digital preservation- data security- information resources management- research and retrieval.
- Digital content management- digitization project site- information resources availability.
- Digital transformation (methods of digital transformation- quality assurance- quality measurements and standards).
- Scanning- encoding language
- Electronic archive- innate drawbacks of the electronic archive- types of electronic archive- open archive.
- Marketing the electronic information resources.
- Arabic and foreign experiences in digitization.
