Course Main Objective
To make student acquainted with the Andalusian literature and the successive states’ literature as well as nature of the two periods; to highlight the most prominent writers and their environment and styles of writing and to conclude the aesthetic, intellectual and social properties through studying and analyzing certain texts.

- 1.1 Mention characteristics of Andalusia and the successive states’ literature and their issues, manifestations of revival in form and content, multiple purposes and the most important figures in fields of prose and poetry.

- 2.1 Analyze the poetic and prosaic to unveil positions of aesthetics and revival in thought and style.
- 2.2 Use communication and information technology and learning resources in preparing the assignments upon handling the studied period-related literary information.

- 3.2 Observe the scientific and academic integrity upon performing the assignments achieving traits of the responsible citizen.
Course Content
1. Poetry in the Arab Maghreb and Andalusia: features of imitation and manifestations of revival, Muwashat "oratorios", description of nature, elegy of sons, elegy of countries, correspondences and replies, praising, pride, poetry for family as well as memorizing and analyzing models from poetry during the Andalusian period.
2. The most prominent poets in Maghreb and Andalusia
3. Circumstances of the Medieval Age and its general conditions and time frame.
4. Judgments made about the said age and discussing them.
5. The traditional poetic subjects and purposes: (praising, elegy, satire, description, love).
6. Poetry's influence by the political and social circumstances of the period and how this was reflected on some of its forms and contents and studying poetic texts which show the social and cultural effect.
7. Manifestations of revival in content.
8. Manifestations of revival in form.
9. The most prominent poets of the age.
10. Definition of messages, their types, features, some examples and most prominent writers.
11. Definition of Maqama "narrative in rhymed prose" and its characteristics and most prominent writers.
12. Poetic and prosaic texts of the arts during the period for the most prominent poets and writers.
