Course Description
The course deals with the work system and its importance in Saudi Arabia. In addition, it tackles the provisions of the labor contract system, and how they settle labor disputes. Also, it aims to identify recruitment procedures in the civil service and the rights and duties of its staff. The course introduces students to basic concepts of business ethics, and ethical behavior in the labor organization.
Course Aims
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Identify the work system, its characteristics and all categories that are subject to it.
- Develop student's ability to analysis job offers from a legal perspective. It also introduces the professional obligations on behalf of the worker and the employer.
- Develop the student's ability to analyze labor issues.
- Develop the student's ability to know the legitimate proceedings needed to confront the organizations for labor disputes settlement.
- Develop the student's ability to analyze work conditions in business organizations.
- Develop students’ abilities to recognize employment procedures in the civil service.
- Develop the student's ability to comprehend criteria for appointing graduates.
- Develop the student's ability regarding the rights and duties of the employees as well as their disciplines.
- Develop the student's ability for decision-making regarding choosing to work in the private or public sector.
- Develop the student's ability to distinguish between ethical behavior and unethical behavior in the work environment.
- Develop the capacity of the student to identify the various problems faced by the employee at the beginning of his work and how to overcome them.
- Apply knowledge of laws governing work conditions and regulations.
