The President of the University of Dammam Dr. Abdullah Al Rubaish inaugurated on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 the Yemeni Culture Festival which was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs and 96 UoD scholarship students. The event was attended by Mr. Abdullah Bakshan, Dr. Ali Al Dossary the Dean of Student Affairs, a number of vice presidents, business men, deans and students.

The Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Ali Al Dossary mentioned that “the festival was intended to be for all diverse nationality scholarship students in the University but due to the large number of Yemeni students who were very enthusiastic to display their country and culture the festival became a Yemeni one. Nevertheless, Yemeni female students will have the chance to participate in an upcoming festival. The festival consisted of 8 booths which were; a booth for displaying Yemeni Folklore, Hadhramaut homes, Yemeni cultural foods, traditional dress, antiques, gifts, handmade crafts, a model of Shibam town and 120 paintings that portray the culture and heritage of Yemen.

Al Dossary concluded his talk by adding that “the University of Dammam is keen on the participation of all its students in the various activities in order to gain new experiences, to serve the community and to introduce to students to the importance of group work which will help in strengthening their confidence in themselves. Finally, the Deanship of Student Affairs has a full schedule of events and activities that are of use for students all year around.
