Prince of the Eastern region, his Royal Highness Prince Saud Bin Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz, on Sunday 5/5/1442H, sponsored the fifth and sixth annual meeting of the University “Hassad”, held in the Conferences Center of the University City, in the presence of the University President Dr. Abdullah M. Al Rubaish, Vice Deans, and the General Director of Social Development of the region Ms. Ibtisam Al-Hamizi and across (Visual contact) the President of the Board of Trustees of the Eastern region Council for Social responsibility, her Highness Princess Abeer Bint Faisal.
The University President pointed out during the meeting that the University is aware of its role in developmental community work and the amount of contribution hoped to make as an educational institution in the Kingdom, with its valuable selection of bright minds and distinguished leading competencies.
He said: "I have drawn up for that, and I have committed to making efforts to bring about community mobility, inculcating and establishing concepts in words and deeds at various levels at the university, and I have built its message and strategies, taking into account its societal responsibility and applying sustainable development concepts in order to serve this trend.
Al Rubaish thanked and appreciated the Deanship of Community Service and Sustainable Development and all its members for their efforts and perseverance to achieve the goals of the University in the service of society, and thanked all deans, vice deans, general managers and university’s faculty for their active investment in the university's social responsibility outlets. He also deeply appreciated the efforts of the region’s public-private community leaders to cooperate with the university and its complementary role in achieving community-based bidding.
The Vice President for Studies, Development and Community Service, Dr. Abdullah Alkadi, pointed that Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University fully applies the concepts of serving society and employing its human resources efforts in supporting and adopting community programs. Strategic partnerships with different community sectors are established and all means are used to join the community and get closer to each other.
"The university has taken strong and clear steps to fulfill its third function under the umbrella of community responsibility, by urging its affiliates to channel all available possibilities and to employ all academic disciplines, academic expertise and diverse processes to meet the needs of society," he said.
The Dean of Community Service and Sustainable Development, Dr. Fatma Al-Malham, pointed that this year, the meeting was renewed in its fifth and sixth sessions under the patronage of the leader of Community Development, Prince Saud Bin Nayef, the Prince of the Eastern region. And with the follow up of his spouse, the partner of success and excellence, the President of the Board of Trustees of the Eastern region Council for Social responsibility; The university has dedicated 326,434 hours to society in the field of community responsibility within two years, bringing the total hours in the fifth session to 112504 and in the sixth session to 213930 in the areas of community responsibility for education and activities, scientific research and studies, and serving society with its development projects.
The overall aim of the meeting was to review images of the university's community tender and to celebrate the record-holders in the number of hours of community responsibility.
