Under the auspices of the President of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rubaish, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ghazi Al-Otaibi, inaugurated the annual exhibition of the College of Designs (CODEX 23). The exhibition was attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Mai Shukry, deans of the other colleges, the supporting deanships, the directors of the departments, and guests from Businessmen, and owners of companies and engineering offices.
Dr. Al-Otaibi stated that the graduation projects of the College of Designs’ students came to confirm the college’s pursuit of creativity and quality. He added, “We, at the university, are keen to present valuable outputs that worth the implementation, the thing that enhances the students’ confidence and perseverance toward creativity and excellency to serve the country and to confirm the ambitious vision of the Kingdom2030.” He also highly praised the efforts of the college that created successful communication with the community from: businessmen, engineers, and other specialists, which emphasizes the importance of cooperation between the college and all the external sectors and entities. He also extended his appreciation to the Dean of the College and to all the employees for their great efforts to prepare and present this successful exhibition.
On her part, the Dean of the College mentioned that the identity of the exhibition is derived from the values of the college, which reflects the university’s values of cooperation and innovation. Hence, the Innovation Unit presents, in the exhibition, innovative projects that seeks developmental opportunities. The exhibition also includes more than 350 projects from all the 3 programs: Interior Design, Graphic Design and Multimedia and Industrial Design.
Eng. Noran Kattan, the Head of the Exhibitions Committee, pointed out that the exhibition this year not only includes the students’ projects, but is accompanied by (The Designers Meeting), which is an area that encourages the interactive dimension. It also includes workshops, talks and discussions carried out by a group of specialists in the fields of arts and design. Finally, the exhibition is available till Wednesday, June 21st, 2023, from 9 am - 8 pm.
