On Saturday September 26, 2015 a group of professional soccer players from several clubs visited patients at King Fahd University Hospital in Al Khobar and presented them with gifts for both the Eid al Adha and Saudi National Day. This program was an initiative of the Saline Water Conservation Corporation (SWCC) in collaboration with SADA al Malaeb and their reporter Talal al Ghamdi. Visitors included soccer players Ahmed Akash from Al Nassr, Abdo Hakami from Al Ettifaq, Abdulrahman Al Obaid from Al Qadisiya, the players' agent Adeel Al Omari, SWCC’s group president, Abdulrahman al Dossary and the media manager for the teams Ahmed Hasarim.
The General President of the Department of Public Relations and Media at King Fahd University Hospital and the University of Dammam, E. Ibrahim Abdulrahman Al Khaldi stated that, “King Fahd University Hospital welcomes clubs, corporations and volunteer initiatives for youth who come and visit the hospital’s patients. These visits put a smile on the patient’s faces and have a significant positive impact on their recovery, while establishing and strengthening the bond between the community and the patients, who at times might feel disconnected from the world outside.”
