One hundred Intermediate students in Al Dammam district schools benefited from the national initiative which was organized by the History Department in the College of Arts, the initiative was titled Silah which means togetherness and it aims at flourishing the spirit of belonging in order to serve the community.

Dr. Amany Al Bahr, head of the History Department in the College of Arts mentioned that “This initiative is only one of UoD’s many initiatives that aim at serving the nation. The initiative introduces students to the history of our beloved country through documentaries, leaflets, defining posters and displaying the Kingdom’s achievements either locally or internationally. The initiative was executed on May 9, 2016 in Al Dammam district schools. It aimed at spreading the fever of national belonging and to strengthen it within Intermediate students. This was achieved through lectures and workshops presented by Dr. Latifah Al Mutlaq and documentaries which display the history of the Kingdom and its founder King Abdulaziz. Nevertheless, this initiative will be executed again next year but in a wider range of schools and it will be directed to teenagers either boys or girls.
