Launching the Virtual Design School initiative in the area of design to achieve the principle of sustainable education.

The "distance" Virtual School initiative was launched in the field of design at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Monday, 18/12/1441H, 8/8/2020 under the umbrella of the Sustainable Development Affairs at the Deanship of Community Service and Sustainable Development, implemented by the College of Design.

The interactive initiative aims to strengthen the role of the College of Design in community service and to stimulate the educational and administrative faculty to take part in community; in addition to enriching the society’s knowledge and skills in the field of design. The idea of the project is to offer several free, professional lectures highlighting the various majors of the college departments in the service of all groups of society and those interested in design.

The Dean of Community Service and Sustainable Development, Prof. Fatmah Al-Mulhim, stressed that Not surprisingly, the College of Design has been keen to collaborate in implementing community initiatives that benefit the community, where they are located in and fulfilling its requirements. Along with the roles of all Colleges, Supporting Deans and Directories at the University to offer services and quality initiatives in order to the concepts of community responsibility according to sustainable development criteria on a sustainable development basis, as the University is a knowledge reference and academic center.

The Dean of the College of Design, Dr. Mai Shukri, also mentioned that College’s implementation of the Initiative is a complement to the overall distinguished efforts of the College in community service field.

The Vice Dean of Sustainable Development, Dr. May Aljamea, noted that the initiative was created to achieve sustainable education and foster community responsibility. It was implemented by the Community Service Unit of the College of Design, where a number of faculty, alumni and students volunteered. The initiative has also received considerable interaction and attention, reflecting the success of the initiative and its excellence in presenting its important and targeted themes. The initiative also motivates us to continue to offer further initiatives and achievements.
