Overview

Education in the 21st century has been modernised by the use of advanced technologies in enhancing student learning through active engagement in the learning process. It also significantly increased educational productivity by reducing costs associated with the design and delivery of the curriculum and effective utilisation of faculty teaching time.

Given the enormous amount of research in the field of use of technology in clinical practice and education, it is essential for dental educators to stay abreast of the latest developments on the use of advanced technologies to improve clinical skills and teaching methodologies and its’ potential impact on the ultimate patient care.

The overall goal of the 12th Annual Dental Symposium is to provide an opportunity for the leaders in dentistry and dental education to share their experiences with the use of advanced technologies in today's dental schools.

The stimulating didactic sessions on the use of technology in dentistry and health-care education; 3 dimensional tools and resources; gaming and virtual patients and computer-aided engineering will provide an opportunity to collaborate on ways to better understand and develop these strategies to promote “State of the Art” clinical experience and e-learning environment in dental education for decades to come.

Goal
