Course Main Objective
- To learn about characteristics of the director.
- Role of the director in each stage of production and direction.
- Learn about the modern theories of direction
- Direct radio and TV programs
- Make students acquire the essential skills of radio and TV direction.
- Link the relation between the writer and the director and their cooperation with each other to implement the required script.
- Master basics of dramatic writing and directing- script writing
- Critically analyze the radio and TV dramas

Course Content
- Definition of radio and TV direction and the modern theories of direction
- TV photography, employing shots and camera angles, camera movement and lighting and their importance to TV direction.
- TV shooting and electronic effects and their importance to the direction.
- The director in radio and TV: his responsibilities, duties and traits
- Relation between the director, the writer, the producer and TV team- scenario writing- executive scenario (the decoupage)
- Types and form of program scripts
- Electronic effects and visual aids used in programs.
- The director and production services and their importance to TV direction: decoration, accessories, dress and make-up
- Watching samples of TV programs and practical applications to radio and TV direction.
- Presentation, discussion and assessment of students' course work from the directive aspect.
