Course Main Objective
To study in this course of the theoretical applied nature reasons beyond the Prophet’s eloquence, factors of his rhetoric and indications of such eloquence, characteristics of such rhetoric through some applications including some of the prophet’s: sayings, speeches, sermons, messages, proverbs, tales,… and study them rhetorically and make use of heritage books in analyzing them.

- 1.1 Explain reasons beyond the Prophet’s- may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him- eloquence and the technical characteristics of his style clarifying scholars’ efforts in studying the prophetic rhetoric in the past and recently.

- 2.1 Analyze the prophetic Hadith “tradition” rhetorically unveiling its aesthetics creatively.
- 2.2 Use communication and information technology to refer to learning resources in concluding the prophetic rhetoric-related rhetoric rules.
- 3. Values
- 3.1 Assume individual, collective and leading responsibility and abide by moral values upon preparing the rhetoric assignments relating to the course.
- 3.2 Perform the rhetoric assignments observing scientific research ethics and academic integrity achieving traits of responsible citizen.
Course Content
- A theoretical introduction to the Prophet’s eloquence; factors of his rhetoric and scholars’ care about it.
- The technical characteristics of the prophetic hadith “tradition” through analyzing his concise and comprehensive talk “Jawam’ Al-Kalim”
- Imagery in the figurative speech of the prophet (simile, representation and metaphor)
- Imagery in the figurative speech of the prophet (metonymy, synecdoche, depiction by phonetic balance and collocation…) and applying them from his “Jawam’ Al-Kalim”.
- Brevity in the prophetic speech
- The prophetic speech’s standing from assonance.
- Style of dialogue in the prophetic Hadith
- Methods of suspense in the prophetic Hadith
- Artistic characteristics of the prophetic story.
- Selections from his concise talk and analyzing them rhetorically.
