Course Main Objective
To study the rules of proofreading and its importance, fields, and rules of correct words, sentences and written styles; to deal with the most common errors morphologically, syntactically, linguistically and in spelling in the arabized and translated texts and language of media and advertising along with practical application to texts.

- 2.1 Apply the rules of proofreading to texts syntactically, morphologically, linguistically and in spelling.
- 2.2 Demonstrate his ability to rewrite texts in a sound manner through applying the rules of proofreading to the written texts.
- 2.3 Use communication and information technology, and learning resources in searching for morphological information relating to the verb and its types and rules.

Course Content
1- An introduction about the course and its requirements and objectives; definition of proofreading and its types and systematic rules.
Basic review of the components of proofreading (word, sentence, paragraph, punctuation), review of punctuation and their places and uses on the keyboard.
2- Methods of searching in lexicons.
3- Training on proofreading for selected articles according to types of articles.
4- Training on proofreading for a selected report, an administrative message, and a creative text.
5- Criticizing texts translated into Arabic.
6- Arabizing foreign words and their common errors.
7- Models of common errors in the media (newspapers, advertisements,...), applications to linguistic errors.
8- Applications of grammatical errors, applications to morphological errors.
9- Applications to spelling errors.
10- Applications to proofreading of academic researches and dissertations.
