This course involves the planning and scheduling methods pertinent to the management of a construction project. It examines the constraints faced by every project engineer in any project and timeframe, budget, human resources, specifications, equipment and material-without letting the constraints limit innovation and creativity. The course introduces techniques for work breakdown structure development, estimating, scheduling such as precedence diagrams, activity durations, resource allocation and leveling, computer scheduling, CPM and PERT methods, earned value management, short-interval schedules using Microsoft projects. The course content includes realistic projects and case studies along with web-based management and technology tools.
