Course Description
Network management (NM) refers to the activities, methods, operational procedures, tools, communications interfaces, protocols, and human resources that pertain to the operation, administration, maintenance, and provisioning of communications networks and plan for their growth and evolution. The course will cover network management standards, technologies, industry best practices.

Learning outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of network management concept, standards, and protocols including TCPI protocols.
- Show how to apply network management standards to manage practical networks.
- Discuss issues and challenges pertaining to management of emerging network technologies such as wireless networks and high-speed internets, and propose possible approaches to manage them using what they learned in the course.
- Demonstrate their in-depth understanding of various aspects of network management by working on group projects involving research on state-of-the-art network management technologies and presenting their findings to the class.
