This course introduces insectphysiology, behaviour, development, systematics, evolution, ecology. The course stresses the integrated pest management
Practical content
Laboratory sessions will focus on the following topics: the insects' taxonomic position in the animal kingdom; insect body systems (the nervous, circulatory, endocrine and excretory, reproductive, systems); chemical control with insecticides; biological control (predators; parasites; microbes).
Course Objectives & Outcomes
At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify the pest define,structure, the environment and economic injury level.
- Understand of different control methods (IPM) and its role to conservation ecology.
- Applay some IPM methods.
