Course Main Objective
The course deals with studying geographic research regarding the importance, concept, traditional and modern approaches, basic stages of research and modern trends in research; learning about design methods for future studies and the traditional and electronic research resources; furthermore, it deals with research tools as well as importance of applying modern technology to the statistical analysis, cartographic representation, geographic data and final layout.

- 1.1 Define the concept of scientific research and the primary methods to prepare a proposal within framework of sustainable development.

- 2.1 Distinguish between methodologies and methods of geographic research and connect them with the sustainable development.
- 2.2 Use the quantitative methods, maps, GIS and IT in preparing and presenting individual projects and researches.

- 3.1 Work effectively within teamwork and practice research skill along with bearing individual and collective responsibility.
Course Content:
- Definition the geographic research and its types and levels as well as the primary principles to prepare a proposal for geographic research.
- Select and set research problem and hypotheses and connect with the sustainable development plan.
- The primary principle to prepare research: title, introduction, scope of study, objective of the research.
- Library data resources.
- Methods and tools of collecting field data.
- The main methodologies in geography and connect them with the sustainable development.
- Representation and taxonomy of geographic data and apply to the SPSS package.
- Analysis of geographic data.
- Styles of scientific documentation.
- Geographic research writing and layout.
