Course Description
This course introduces the use of both simple and complex graphic tools that are crucial to the understanding of design concepts as well as help in the communication of these concepts. An emphasis will be placed on how to do quick sketching in order to efficiently transfer artistic ideas onto paper. All exercises will focus on the development of the skills that are required in free hand drawing to produce three-dimensional sketches. These freehand sketches will also help the students understand proportion, scale and analyzing an environment and all objects in it. This course will also introduce various techniques and methods by using different mediums such as: pencil, charcoal, watercolor, etc. Exercises are intended to teach the language of drawing by inspiring the students to use their imaginations and encouraging them to explore and develop their own design ideas.
