Course Description
This course introduce the science of oceanography, in particular, physical and biological aspects of the Arabian Gulf. Further, this course will detail the different environments present in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, including: mud flats, mangroves, coral reefs, rocky and sandy coasts. Study to the distribution of marine organisms and Study to the different adaptation of organisms
Practical content
This course will introduce students to the study of the physical, chemical, and biological properties of water the Arabian Gulf, and the relationship between these characteristics and marine organisms.
Course Objectives & Outcomes
At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify the techniques and knowledge related to studying sea temperature, salinity, water bodies, marine currents, tides, the main ingredients in seawater, and marine organisms such as plankton and benthic animals.
- Understand the study of the physical, biological, and chemical properties of the Arabian Gulf
- Study the relationship between the ecosystem and its surrounding environment.
- Understand different adaptation of organisms to the live in Arabian Gulf.
