Course Description
In this course the student will get the opportunity to play the role of a third officer on emergency ambulances. The course focuses on developing the practical experience and skills to enhance students' practice development and augment pre-hospital decision making and problem solving skills. Integration of current literature and research with practice in a culturally diverse pre-hospital environment is facilitated. It will allow the student to explore the complexities of patient presentations and decisions about emergency health care, taking into account individual variations in pathologies. It also aims to explore complex decision making in the setting of a multi-casualty incident or disaster.
