The tremendous growth in data, computing capabilities, and advancements in data analytics has made data a universal language pivotal to decision-making, policy formulation, development, and performance evaluation. As a result, various sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have undertaken the study, analysis, and assessment of their current status to help them determine how effectively they are achieving their strategic goals, identifying their standings, and recognizing gaps and opportunities between their current plans and objectives, timelines, and risk management. This growing need underscores the increasing demand for specialists in statistics and data analysis who are capable of extracting essential insights and general conclusions necessary for strategic planning and developmental decision-making.
In line with Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University's commitment to societal responsibility and under the ambitious vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leadership, the Statistics and Data Science program has been established as the first of its kind among public and private universities in the Kingdom.
Program Main Objective
The primary objective of this program is to prepare highly qualified national professionals capable of meeting the demands of the labor market by equipping them with the necessary skills to execute all stages of data analysis. The program focuses on applying widely-used theories and techniques in statistics and machine learning to support the Kingdom’s strategic planning, enhance the use of data in developing economic policies, meet rising expectations, and address emerging challenges. Additionally, the program aims to achieve high standards of transparency, guiding the development process towards cohesive and integrated objectives to ensure the prudent use of national resources and the formulation of detailed plans to drive progress.
The program has been designed based on the latest benchmarking studies to align with models offered by leading global universities. It also incorporates an analysis of the Saudi labor market's requirements and feedback from stakeholders, ensuring the program meets the highest levels of anticipated progress necessary to serve a local market with global aspirations.
Graduates of this program will be awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics and Data Science. This degree opens numerous opportunities for graduates to join government and private entities across various sectors.
