Second Year Students are introduced to the principles of health information management and technology through a series of courses that are designed to give them a solid foundation in this field. Third year During the third year students will study diagnostic and procedural coding such as ICD-10-CM, current strategies of systems design as well as different approaches to quality improvement (QI) in health care organizations. Students will also have the opportunity to master and practice their technical skills through practical professional experiences at a variety of recognized hospitals. Fourth year The main focus of the fourth year is to provide the students with the skills and problem solving techniques that will be necessary in their professional careers. They will be required to conduct a graduation project that demonstrates a strong understanding of scientific research. Fifth year (Internship year) Following the completion of the program of study, students are required to spend 12 months training in KFHU or another recognized hospital. The internship program provides the students with the opportunity to integrate their knowledge along with the professional attributes that were acquired throughout their college careers.
