TabsOverviewThe period of childhood is one in which children undergo many profound physiologic changes. Specific care has to be offered to them in order to promote and maintain their health. The philosophy of family centered care recognizes the family as the constant in a child’s life. Therefore this program focuses on family centered care of children in health and illness in primary, secondary and tertiary care settings. Graduates are prepared for the traditional and emerging roles of the pediatric nurse in a multicultural environment. Emphasis will be put on common acute and chronic illnesses experienced by children and adolescents.
