Dr. Al-Sulbi received Bachelor in Landscape Architecture from King Abdul-Aziz University, Jeddah – Saudi Arabia in 1990, and Master in Landscape Planning from King Faisal University, Dammam – Saudi Arabia in 2001. In 2008 he got PhD in Natural Resources Planning and Management from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom.
From 2008 he has been assistant professor with the Department of Landscape Architecture, the University of Dammam, teaching variety of courses in landscape design, plants, irrigation design, ecology, and ecosystems management, etc. From 2009 he has become vice dean for Academic Affairs and Chairman of the Landscape Architecture Department in the College of Architecture and Planning. He is the author of one book and tens of scientific papers and articles. From 2019 he is an associate professor of landscape architecture. His research interests include sustainability and sustainable development, Landscape and environmental assessment, urban design, rehabilitation of historical and environmentally affected sites, environmental resources conservation and management, wild plants utilization in beautification and landscaping, green infrastructure, and resilience of urban and natural ecosystems.
Dr. Al-Sulbi is a member of ASLA and the Saudi Commission for Engineers. He received number of appreciation certificates and awarded the best teacher in the department in 2009.
