TabsSummaryFollowing his Ph.D in Regional Economic Development from University of Guelph in 2007, Dr. Alhowaish is a Professor in Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (formally University of Dammam). Currently, Dr. Alhowaish is the university president advisor for consultation studies. Dr. Alhowaish has worked as a consultant for Ministry of Economic and Planning on developing the 10th National Development Plan for the last 4 years. He also acted as a director manager for Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs on developing the National Strategy for Municipal Services Delivery in Saudi Rural Areas. Recently, Dr. Alhowaish has worked as a senior urban economist for UN-Habitats, Saudi Future City Program (SFCP) and as a national socio-economic expert for FAO-KSA. Dr. Alhowaish has more than 30 scientific publication and conference papers and four funded development project. His research interest is the economic development both urban and regional economies. On October 7, 2013, Dr. Alhowaish received the distinguished Professor Award from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (formally: University of Dammam).
