Gentrification and changing the function of a traditional structure while generating income will be evaluated and studied in order to make this option of preserving historic buildings not only economically feasible but a viable option while preserving the Kingdom’s traditional structures. The classification and types of transformations that are being practiced in different parts of the world, both in industrialized and non-industrialized cities will be covered. Site visits to historic buildings as well as actual research on older traditional buildings will give students practical experience in this field of adaptive reuse.
