This course will cover the technical knowledge necessary for the selection of different finishing and furnishings materials, their application, specification and performance and also include the code requirements for finishing materials in both commercial and residential applications. The psychological effects of different types of finishing materials used in interior design will be emphasized, as well as different considerations related to human factors, safety, security and durability. The characteristics of materials and finishes will be examined as well.
