Course Description
This course introduces the physical, psychological and social aspects of human behavior that affect the built environment and vice versa. The course will focus on four main issues: sociological or human needs, psychological human responses, perception and aesthetics and finally the response to the interior environment. In this course the students will examine and conduct research in different spaces in order to document human behavior. The results of their research will be analyzed to see how this might influence how interior spaces are designed. Cultural and social differences will be studied with respect to different religions and societies, and interior elements such as color, scale, image and style and their effect on human behavior in both interior and exterior spaces will also be examined.
